I am 29 years old and I have always wanted a baby, but it could not have been worse timing when I found out I was pregnant. My partner and I had been living abroad for 6 years and we had just made an international move to be closer to family. A week after the flight I found out I was pregnant. We had so much going on in our lives, that the thought of adding a child into the equation seemed impossible. We were planning on visiting family in the US and Canada for 6 more months before moving to a new city and I still needed to apply for a visa. I had an overwhelming feeling that it was not the right time to have a baby and luckily, my partner was on board. So, I made an appointment with Planned Parenthood to have an abortion.

I decided to have a surgical abortion and it took only 15 mins. I had minimal bleeding for a few days and that was that. It was the best decision I have ever made and I have never regretted it. Do I still want a baby? Of course! I just want to know that I can financially, emotionally, and physically parent a child to the best of my ability when I am ready!
