My boyfriend and I had been dating for 4 years at the time. Both 23 years old. His mom was 19 when he was born, he never wanted to be a “young parent,” although we were older we both knew it just wasn’t the right time. When I found out we both knew right away that we were going to have an abortion. We both agreed to never tell anyone. His friend was actually visiting from Australia at the time, staying with us when I had my abortion. My boyfriend couldn’t even be with my because we had to act like I was just “sick.” 3 years later and I know I did the right thing, but just it feels so much more shameful having to keep it a secret. I just want to tell someone.
