I think about my abortion every day.

Recently, with the due date approaching, there have been several days where I find myself wishing that I had made different choices. But sometimes we make choices that we regret, and sometimes what feels like regret in one moment, transforms into relief in another. The freedom to make such choices is a fundamental right, even if it means making choices we might end up regretting.

Reproductive freedom is about more than just the act of choosing; it’s about owning the responsibility of our choices, and knowing that whether our choices lead to regret or relief, the choice only belongs to you. The right to make decisions about your own body is intensely personal. My choices, and the lessons I’ve learned from them, belong to only me.
