My abortion was pretty drama-free thanks to Aid Access. I’m not on birth control because of the side effects I experienced, and in this case, I had taken Plan B but I think I should have taken two pills instead of one.

My state has mandatory reporting for all abortions, and I was not willing to put my name on that list out of fear of future criminalization. I thought I would have to travel out of state, but I found a service that provides pills by mail so I was able to do it all at home. I was expecting it to be a lot more painful than it was. In reality, I had bad cramps for a few hours after taking the pills and bled heavily the first night, but after that it was just like a normal period.

I’ve never desired to have biological children, and a pregnancy would have been extra inconvenient at this particular time in my life. When I found out, there was no question that I would have an abortion. At no point did I have an emotional battle about my choice or any regrets.
