18 years old. Nearly completing Freshman year of college. It felt like time stood still. When I first learned I was pregnant the first thing I did was tell the father (also a freshman and my boyfriend of about a year).

We had a long conversation with each other in person. We weighed our options carefully, but secretly I felt like we both knew we could not support a potential baby nor would we be able to continue going to university if we stayed where we were. Having him as my biggest support meant the world to me. We didn’t get anyone else involved, so it was just us and the clinic who helped and educated us every step of the way. I’m so thankful for the staff and even just having the option to go through the process. It was our choice through and through and we came out confident that these were the right decisions for us – for me.
