I had been married for nearly 10 years. We shared 5 children already. He was born again Christian and had made me aware i had no place in his home if I ever sought an abortion.  When I found out I was pregnant again I knew I couldn’t have another child and I needed to escape my toxic marriage.  My abortion helped me to understand that I do have a choice in life. It empowered me to stand up when I needed change and it gave me the courage to speak up for my self.  I left my controlling, abusive marriage and moved on from a place of strength not fear. I feel so grateful to be able to access abortion legally & safely. I am a better, happier and a more empathetic person because of my abortion. If I didn’t have access to abortion I’m not sure I would have survived.
