I Would Not Judge

I found out on my 15th birthday I was pregnant. My boyfriend encouraged me to go to the doctor’s. The nurse seemed so happy to tell me the good news! No way was I going to have a baby at 15! I was just trying to pass my school certificate. Teenagers don’t think about consequence “it won’t happen to me”…. My mother was angry with my boyfriend who was 5yrs older than me, but I explained he had been very supportive and we stayed together for 3 years. Now 30 odd years on I have two teenage daughters of my own, and so far have not had to go through the same experience with them, but if I did, I would not judge and I would support their decision, whatever it turned out to be. Having a child is the most hugest event and I believe you have to be as ready as you can be when the time comes. It was never anything I took lightly or would use as a “contraceptive,” but a very safe medical procedure that must be legalized and continue to let woman have choices. ( I wonder what the law would be if it were men that had to face the pregnancies…)

Remember that our stories are ours to tell. We’d love to hear your story too!
