I was 19 and not ready

When I was 19 years old, I was home for the summer and rekindled with an old flame from high school. We hadn’t seen each other in years, but that summer, we spent most nights together. When I got back to college in August, something felt different- and after missing my period and taking a test it was confirmed I was pregnant. I was studying to get an engineering degree, had no money of my own, and had my entire life and career ahead of me. I was not ready to raise a child. Thankfully, I lived in a state/city that had planned parenthood closeby and was able to get a quick, painless surgical abortion. I am blessed that this was never difficult for me. And I never thought twice about my decision. People need access to abortion NO MATTER WHAT the reason! Medical or emotional or financial – it is NO ONE’S business.
