I know I made the right choice.
I was 22 years old, a month from being 23. My boyfriend and I of seven years lived together in a studio. I was almost done with college and we’re barely getting our careers started.
When I was a week late, my boyfriend immediately said take a test and it was positive. I couldn’t believe it. In our years together, I’ve never gotten pregnant and I couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t even a question. We both knew and support the choice.
The next day I got it done. I was only five weeks so I had no complications. But the hardest thing was how I kept my business from my parents. I mean I’m an adult and it happens but my parents have their own struggles and why tell them? But I do feel lonely. I know I made the right choice. I can’t wait to be a mom and have kids but I want to set them up for success.
