Hi, I’m a 22 year old Nigerian, living in Nigeria where getting an abortion is illegal except where the pregnancy threatens the life of the child or mother. But people illegally get abortions which lead to complications, and sometimes even death.
So I found out three days ago that I was pregnant, and I’m not ready to be a mother, my boyfriend claims he pulled out and didn’t release inside of me but no method is 100% and I haven’t been with anyone else.
In Nigeria, single moms are stigmatized and they kick you out of school and even fire you from your job if you are pregnant outside wedlock. I’m not that strong and it breaks my heart that my choice is to have an abortion.
Some doctors perform abortions in secret and I’ll be meeting one tomorrow.
