I’m currently pregnant, on purpose – after careful consideration and planning with my partner. About 10 years ago, I got pregnant accidentally. As soon as I found out, there was never a question as to whether I would get an abortion or not. The whole scenario was wrong: wrong place, wrong time and definitely wrong person to get pregnant with.
If it weren’t for that abortion, I wouldn’t be pregnant today. The abortion that I got and my current pregnancy are part of the same issue of reproductive healthcare access.
I am having a safe pregnancy today because I had a safe abortion then.
I have not for once ever regretted my decision to have an abortion, just as I today do not regret the decision to become pregnant. I am proud of the decisions that I’ve made, and will continue to shout my abortion as loudly as I visually shout this growing baby bump!
