Before my abortion, I was a 22 year old that had never been to the gynecologist. I wasn’t on birth control. I think it’s because I grew up in a family where women’s health wasn’t talked about, and going to the gynecologist wasn’t important unless you were pregnant. After I had my abortion, I found a women’s health doctor that prescribed me birth control, explained to me about annual tests, and the importance of health care. My abortion was a blessing.
