I had my first abortion at age 12. The decision was made for me by my aunt to not keep the child. I had my second abortion at age 20. I made the decision to abort after being incessantly pressured by many people- no one believed I would be capable of raising a child. My abortions are my biggest ‘what if’ in life. I have an amazing life now, but I believe my life would have been just as amazing if I had kept either child. I don’t regret my abortions, but I do regret that I did not demand the agency to make the choice for myself.
