My third, and very, very desired pregnancy ended in abortion. We decided to choose termination, because our baby had major cardiac defects that were incompatible with life. The option for safe, legal abortion spared our baby the suffering she would’ve undoubtedly experienced had she been carried full term. It also allowed me and my husband the grace and closure to say goodbye to our baby without the pain of having to gestationally carry a child I would never get to hold in my arms. I am so grateful for safe and legal abortion.
