I was 16 years old and suffering from addiction. I didn’t know if my boyfriend had gotten me pregnant or if it was from an assault. I didn’t remember being assaulted but a condom fell out of me and my boyfriend and I never used them, so I assumed it was yet another rape during a blackout, presumably from the 30 year old man who supplied me with drugs.
I had an abortion and it was the best thing I could do for myself at that time. I have been clean for 8 years, I came out and have a wonderful partner, and I am getting my masters. If I had not been able to safely get an abortion, I would not have the beautiful life I have today.
