Interstate 55 stretches from southern Louisiana to Chicago, and has become a route for thousands of abortion seekers leaving southern states to access legal abortion in Illinois. I-55 is lined with horrible anti-abortion billboards, so SYA decided to put up some nice ones, including one that says “God’s Plan Includes Abortion”. The response has been amazing! We immediately imagined this text in a scripture-meets-metal aesthetic, a lane well-traveled by beloved Louisiana metal band Thou. We hit them up, blessings occurred, and singer Bryan Funck ultimately helped us bring the design to life. Praise!
