My Story: In 1980, I met the man who would become my husband. We were both 20 year old college students, and very much in love. It was a magical time. We planned a future together; education, careers, marriage, home, children, travel, a life together. In 1980, we were far from our goal.
In November 1980, I became pregnant. In January 1981, I had an abortion. It was not a difficult decision, but a very straightforward one. No hand-wringing, no anguish, just a thoughtful decision. It saved us. We went on to marry, have two children and build our lives.
That unplanned embryo would have changed everything. It was the best decision that I have ever made, and I have no remorse or regrets. I am very grateful that Choice was available to me.
