I found out I was pregnant with the new person I had just started dating. It was the worst possible time. At the time, we knew we wanted to be together and maybe eventually have a family together, but not then. He was just starting his career and was broke, and I was in the middle of finalizing the last stages of a divorce from my ex-husband. We both agreed that an abortion was the right decision for us. He was very supportive and we dated for 2 years before the strain of long distance ultimately ended our relationship. So in hindsight, I’m even more sure that we made the right call.
