I have never had an abortion but I have a very strong commitment to letting women make their own choices. Keyword is CHOICE – something they are trying to take away from us.
My story is that when I was about 8 months pregnant with my first child (in 1989) I proudly protested against a pro-life event that was being held in Regina, Sask where I lived. I marched and carried a sign and felt really empowered to be there, especially as a pregnant woman. I shouted “It was my choice” to the pro-lifers as they noticed I was carrying a child.
Women need to be supported and given options. I will always stand up for that.
