Join Shout Your Abortion (SYA) Cofounder and local abortion storytellers to share and discuss the power of personal experience as a tool for activism. #ShoutYourAbortion is a decentralized network of individuals talking about abortion on our own terms and creating space for others to do the same. The evening will begin with a short social hour. The event will include personal readings from SYA’s new book, performances by local abortion storytellers, and movement storytellers sharing their experiences.
Abortion experiences are vast, personal, and complex and we believe that sharing them can create a powerful ripple effect. Taking control of our own narratives can change minds, hearts, and laws. Opportunities will be available to connect with storytelling platforms to learn how to develop your own narrative. The event is free and all are welcome. There are no age restrictions and parents are encouraged to make their own choices on content exposure. Attendees over 21 are welcome to purchase beer and wine for sale at High Grounds.
